(3) When you contact us by email or via a form, we store the data you provide (surname, first name, email address, age, address, telephone number). We delete the data collected in this context once it is no longer necessary to store it, or restrict its processing if there are legal retention obligations.
(4) If we use contracted service providers for individual functions of our offer or would like to use your data for advertising purposes, we will inform you in detail about the respective processes below. We will also specify the criteria for the storage period.
(1) You have the following rights with regard to your personal data:
– Right to information,
– Right to correction or deletion,
– Right to restriction of processing,
– Right to object to processing,
– Right to data portability.
(2) You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about our processing of your personal data. The data protection supervisory authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia.
(1) When using our websites for informational purposes only, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise provide us with information, we only collect the personal data that your browser transmits to our server. If you wish to view our website, we collect the following data, which is technically necessary for us to display our website to you and to ensure stability and security (the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR):
– IP address
– Date and time of the request
– Time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
– Content of the request (specific page)
– Access status/HTTP status code
– Amount of data transferred in each case
– Website from which the request originates
– Browser
– Operating system and its interface
– Language and version of the browser software.
(2) In addition to the aforementioned data, cookies are stored on your computer when you use our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard drive and assigned to the browser you are using, and through which certain information flows to the entity that sets the cookie (in this case, us). Cookies cannot execute programs or transfer viruses to your computer. They serve to make the Internet offering more user-friendly and effective overall.
(3) Use of cookies:
a) Our offers use the following types of cookies, the scope and functionality of which are explained below:
– Transient cookies (see b)
– Persistent cookies (see c).
b) Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. These include, in particular, session cookies. These store a so-called session ID, which can be used to assign various requests from your browser to the shared session. This allows your computer to be recognized when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close your browser.
c) Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period, which may vary depending on the cookie. You can delete cookies at any time in your browser’s security settings.
d) You can configure your browser settings according to your preferences and, for example, refuse to accept third-party cookies or all cookies. Please note that you may not be able to use all the features of this website.
e) We use cookies to identify you for subsequent visits if you have an account with us. Otherwise, you would have to log in again for each visit.
f) The Flash cookies used are not recorded by your browser, but by your Flash plug-in. We also use HTML5 storage objects, which are stored on your device. These objects store the necessary data independently of the browser you use and do not have an automatic expiration date. If you do not want Flash cookies to be processed, you must install an appropriate add-on, e.g., “Better Privacy” for Mozilla Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/betterprivacy/) or the Adobe Flash Killer Cookie for Google Chrome. You can prevent the use of HTML5 storage objects by using private mode in your browser. We also recommend that you regularly delete your cookies and browser history manually.
(1) In addition to the purely informational use of our website, we offer various services that you can use if you are interested. To do so, you will usually need to provide additional personal data, which we will use to provide the respective service and to which the aforementioned principles of data processing apply.
(2) In some cases, we use external service providers to process your data. These have been carefully selected and commissioned by us, are bound by our instructions, and are regularly monitored.
(1) If you have given your consent to the processing of your data, you can revoke this at any time. Such revocation affects the permissibility of the processing of your personal data after you have notified us of it.
(2) Insofar as we base the processing of your personal data on the balancing of interests, you can object to the processing. This is the case if the processing is not necessary in particular for the fulfillment of a contract with you, which is presented by us in the following description of the functions. When exercising such an objection, we ask you to explain the reasons why we should not process your personal data as we have done. In the event of your justified objection, we will examine the situation and either stop or adapt the data processing or point out to you our compelling legitimate reasons for continuing the processing.
(3) You can, of course, object to the processing of your personal data for advertising and data analysis purposes at any time. You can inform us of your objection to advertising using the contact details provided above.
(1) With your consent, you can subscribe to our newsletter/mailings, which we use to keep you informed about our services and individual programs.
(2) We use the double opt-in procedure for registration for our newsletter/mailings. This means that after you register, we will send an email to the email address you provided, asking you to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter. If you do not confirm your registration, your information will be blocked and automatically deleted. In addition, we store your IP addresses and the times of registration and confirmation. The purpose of this procedure is to verify your registration and, if necessary, to investigate any possible misuse of your personal data.
(3) The only mandatory information required for sending the newsletter/mailing is your email address and first name. The provision of additional, separately marked data is voluntary and will be used to address you personally. After your confirmation, we will store your email address for the purpose of sending the newsletter/mailings. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.
(4) You can revoke your consent to receive the newsletter at any time and unsubscribe from the newsletter. You can revoke your consent by clicking on the link provided in every newsletter email or by sending an email to mail@mediaengine.de or by sending a message to the contact details provided in the legal notice.
We currently use the following social media plug-ins:
(1) The data specified in § 3 of this declaration will be transmitted to Facebook. Facebook will anonymize your IP address immediately after collection. By activating the plug-in, your personal data will be transmitted to the respective plug-in provider and stored there (in the case of US providers, in the USA). Since the plug-in provider collects data in particular via cookies, we recommend that you delete all cookies via your browser’s security settings before clicking on the grayed-out box.
(2) We have no influence on the data collected and data processing operations, nor are we aware of the full extent of data collection, the purposes of processing, or the storage periods. We also have no information about the deletion of the collected data by the plug-in provider.
(3) Facebook stores the data collected about you as usage profiles and uses them for advertising, market research, and/or the needs-based design of its website. Such evaluation is carried out in particular (even for users who are not logged in) to display needs-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, whereby you must contact the respective plug-in provider to exercise this right. The plug-ins offer you the opportunity to interact with social networks and other users, enabling us to improve our offering and make it more interesting for you as a user. The legal basis for the use of the plug-ins is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
(4) Data is transferred regardless of whether you have an account with the plug-in provider and are logged in there. If you are logged in with the plug-in provider, the data collected by us will be directly assigned to your existing account with the plug-in provider. If you click on the activated button and, for example, link the page, the plug-in provider also stores this information in your user account and shares it publicly with your contacts. We recommend that you log out regularly after using a social network, but especially before activating the button, as this will prevent your profile from being assigned to the plug-in provider.
(5) Further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and its processing by Facebook can be found in the privacy policies provided below. There you will also find further information on your rights in this regard and settings options for protecting your privacy.

(1) We have integrated videos into our online offerings that are stored on http://www.YouTube.com and https://www.vimeo.com/de and can be viewed directly from our website.
(2) By using our services, YouTube or Vimeo receives information that you have accessed the corresponding subpage of our website. In addition, the data mentioned in § 3 of this declaration is transmitted. This occurs regardless of whether YouTube & Vimeo provide a user account through which you are logged in or whether no user account exists. If you are logged in to Google, your data will be directly associated with your account. If you do not want your profile to be associated with YouTube, you must log out before activating the button. Such evaluation is carried out in particular (even for users who are not logged in) to provide needs-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, whereby you must contact YouTube & Vimeo to exercise this right.
(3) Further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and its processing by YouTube & Vimeo can be found in the respective privacy policy. There you will also find further information on your rights and settings options for protecting your privacy: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy. Google also processes your personal data in the USA and has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework. Vimeo’s privacy policy is available at https://vimeo.com/privacy.
(1) We use Google Adwords to draw attention to our services on external websites with the help of advertising material (known as Google Adwords). We can determine how successful the individual advertising measures are in relation to the data from the advertising campaigns. Our aim is to show you advertising that is of interest to you, to make our website more interesting for you, and to achieve a fair calculation of advertising costs.
(2) These advertising materials are delivered by Google via so-called “ad servers.” To do this, we use ad server cookies, which can be used to measure certain parameters for measuring success, such as the display of ads or clicks by users. If you access our website via a Google ad, Google Adwords will store a cookie on your PC. These cookies usually expire after 30 days and are not intended to identify you personally. The unique cookie ID, number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), last impression (relevant for post-view conversions), and opt-out information (indicating that the user no longer wishes to be targeted) are usually stored as analysis values for this cookie.
(3) These cookies enable Google to recognize your Internet browser. If a user visits certain pages of an AdWords customer’s website and the cookie stored on their computer has not yet expired, Google and the customer can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. Each AdWords customer is assigned a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be tracked across the websites of AdWords customers. We ourselves do not collect or process any personal data in the advertising measures mentioned. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. Based on these evaluations, we can identify which of the advertising measures used are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data from the use of the advertising material; in particular, we cannot identify users based on this information.
(4) Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to Google’s server. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Google through the use of this tool and therefore inform you according to our state of knowledge: By integrating AdWords Conversion, Google receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding part of our website or clicked on one of our ads. If you are registered with a Google service, Google can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider will find out and store your IP address.
(5) You can prevent participation in this tracking process in various ways: a) by adjusting your browser software settings accordingly; in particular, suppressing third-party cookies means that you will not receive any third-party ads; b) by deactivating cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain “www.googleadservices.com,” https://www.google.de/settings/ads, although this setting will be deleted when you delete your cookies; c) by deactivating interest-based ads from providers who are part of the “About Ads” self-regulation campaign via the link http://www.aboutads.info/choices, although this setting will be deleted when you delete your cookies; d) by permanently deactivating them in your Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Google Chrome browsers at the link http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. Please note that in this case, you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent.
(6) The legal basis for the processing of your data is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Further information on data protection at Google can be found here: http://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy and https://services.google.com/sitestats/de.html. Alternatively, you can visit the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) website at http://www.networkadvertising.org. Google has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.
In addition to Google Adwords Conversion, we use the Google Remarketing application. This is a process we use to target you again. This application allows us to display our advertisements to you after you have visited our website and continue to use the internet. This is done using cookies stored in your browser, which Google uses to record and evaluate your usage behavior when you visit various websites. This allows Google to detect your previous visit to our website. According to Google, the data collected in the context of remarketing is not merged with your personal data that may be stored by Google. In particular, according to Google, pseudonymization is used in remarketing.
(1) This website also uses the online marketing tool DoubleClick by Google. DoubleClick uses cookies to display ads that are relevant to users, to improve campaign performance reports, or to prevent a user from seeing the same ads multiple times. Google uses a cookie ID to track which ads are displayed in which browser and can thus prevent them from being displayed multiple times. In addition, DoubleClick can use cookie IDs to track conversions related to ad requests. This is the case, for example, when a user sees a DoubleClick ad and later visits the advertiser’s website with the same browser and makes a purchase there. According to Google, DoubleClick cookies do not contain any personal information.
(2) Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to Google’s server. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Google through the use of this tool and therefore inform you according to our state of knowledge: By integrating DoubleClick, Google receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding part of our website or clicked on one of our ads. If you are registered with a Google service, Google can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider will find out and store your IP address.
(3) You can prevent participation in this tracking process in various ways: a) by adjusting your browser software settings accordingly; in particular, suppressing third-party cookies means that you will not receive any third-party ads; b) by deactivating cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain “www.googleadservices.com,” https://www.google.de/settings/ads, although this setting will be deleted when you delete your cookies; c) by deactivating interest-based ads from providers who are part of the “About Ads” self-regulation campaign via the link http://www.aboutads.info/choices, although this setting will be deleted when you delete your cookies; d) by permanently deactivating them in your Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Google Chrome browsers at the link http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. Please note that in this case, you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent.
(4) The legal basis for the processing of your data is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. For more information about DoubleClick by Google, please visit https://www.google.de/doubleclick and http://support.google.com/adsense/answer/2839090, as well as Google’s general privacy policy: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy. Alternatively, you can visit the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) website at http://www.networkadvertising.org. Google has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.
(1) Our websites also use the “Custom Audiences” remarketing function from Facebook Inc. (‘Facebook’). This allows users of the website to be shown interest-based advertisements (“Facebook Ads”) when visiting the Facebook social network or other websites that also use this process. Our interest in doing so is to show you advertisements that are of interest to you in order to make our offers more interesting for you.
(2) Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Facebook server. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Facebook through the use of this tool and therefore inform you according to our state of knowledge: By integrating Facebook Custom Audiences, Facebook receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding page of our website or clicked on one of our ads. If you are registered with a Facebook service, Facebook can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Facebook or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider may obtain and store your IP address and other identifying features.
(3) Logged-in users can deactivate the “Facebook Custom Audiences” function at https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=ads#_.
(4) The legal basis for the processing of your data is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Further information on data processing by Facebook can be found at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy.
